EVS - The experience of our volunteers in Cagliari, Sardinia

The European Voluntary Service (EVS) provides young Europeans with the unique chance to express their personal commitment through unpaid and full-time voluntary activities in a foreign country within or outside the EU. In this way, it seeks to develop solidarity, mutual understanding and tolerance among young people, thus contributing to reinforcing social cohesion in the European Union and to promoting young people's active citizenship.

Between the period of September 2008 and March 2009, two of our local TDM girls and board members, Lisa Martin and Therese Borg Micallef embarked on their EVS experience in Cagliari, Sardinia on the project entitled: Mutual understanding and Diversity promote growth. Throughout their time in Sardinia Lisa and Therese had the opportunity to live with 6 other people from 3 European countries and work together with these and the locals on projects aimed at making local impact, specifically with the sardinian children.
